With Love & Caring...

Some mornings you get phone calls, you just don't want to take. Tuesday morning was that morning for me. Our dear friends in Florida, had to say good bye to their aunt who went to be with the Lord on Monday. Sympathy cards are one of those cards that I have always had a hard time with. They tear at my heart because I know the reason why I am making them. So usually as a rule; I do not make them. That is because I tear up like a baby while I am making them. Patty and Ray are very special and need a little love sent there way.

Here is there card that I created to send them some loving and caring thoughts...

 The detail shot...
Supplies:
{ippity} stamps: Now & Always
Versa Magic Chalk Ink: Gingerbread
Copic Marker: BG72 Ice Ocean
Memento Ink: Rich Cocoa
Stampin' Up: Thanks for Caring

Enjoy!

Graduation time

Usually at this time of the year, my husband, Doug, and I have invitations for graduation parties coming from every where. This year is a quiet year. We had only two. One for our nephew, Evan, and one for our friends' son, Geran. Unfortunately, we will not be able to attend either party this year; Evan lives in North Carolina, and Geran's party is on a day we will be visiting our nation's capital. Nonetheless, we could not be any prouder of these two guys. And to show it, here is what the card looks like that I made for them. Evan's is on its way to North Carolina as we speak and Geran's is on standby awaiting his party.

The detail shot shows that I layer up the tag from The BEST set along with using another stamp from the set, and using the graduation cap die cut from QuicKutz. I added an eyelet at the top for ribbon and at the bottom of the tag I added a grad cap brad. The tag itself is pop dotted up from the card for added dimension.
Enjoy!

My Story...

I decided today that I would create an 8x8 album called "My Story...". It would be a simple album to tell my story of where I have been, where I am at, and where I am going. And I will share this journey with you, too. As the weeks and months go by, I will be adding to this album to simply tell a story - my story. I hope that it inspires you to do the same in some form or another.

The page itself is made up of five shades of cardstock. I wanted to keep each layout simple to focus more on the stories. The most unique thing about this layout; however, is that I printed my photo onto cardstock as well. I used French Vanilla Bazzill cardstock for this technique. Then I distressed the edges of the photo with my edge distresser. For all of the cardstock I used the direct to paper technique to ink the edge with chalk ink to add a softness to the page. I used small scrabble letters from my stash and stained them with distress stain to match the layout for the title area.

The story for this page: "Our lives are always being written and we have no ending."

The supplies that I used are shown below:
{ippity} stamp - Books a' Flutter
Memento Ink - Rich Cocoa
Distress Stain - Wild Honey
Chalk Ink -Gingerbread
Tim Holtz Edge Distresser

Copic Markers Used:
BG72 - Ice Ocean
BG75 - Abyss Green
C1 - Cool Gray No. 1
YG91 - Putty
YG93 - Grayish Yellow
YR18 - Sanguine
YR21 - Cream
YR23 - Yellow Ochre

Zig Writer - Chocolate
